Resolving Workplace Conflicts
"We have to change the way we feel about conflict. It's not to be avoided; it's to be confronted and resolved."
- Gordon L. Lippitt
Introduction:
A recent American Management Association survey of executive officers, vice presidents and middle managers shows respondents spending 24% of their time dealing with conflict. It is the role of an organization’s leadership to create a work environment in which people feel safe and which enables people to thrive. Because conflict has the potential to be positive, the skills for effectively managing conflicts are critical to bringing about win-win outcomes.
